(December 26, 2006) Lancair is pleased to
announce that on November 27th,
Richard Schaefer from Austin, TX took delivery
of his Lancair IV-P kit, serial number LIV-600
in the Lancair IV series. The Lancair IV series
includes the Lancair IV, Lancair IV-P and the
Lancair PropJet. The first Lancair IV wing kit
was delivered in April of 1991. There are over
275 flying to date.
Schaefer was
ecstatic about his kit and his time at the
Lancair Build Shop. “This was a dream come true
for me, to own a Lancair. The experience has
been amazing. The people here at Lancair have
made it so much more than I expected. Their
enthusiasm to my project has been
overwhelming.” Schaefer spent three weeks in
the Lancair Build Shop. In that time he was
supervised in the closing of his wings,
horizontal stabilizer and elevators, installed
the windows, door and wing fairings.
Lancair has a
fleet of seven aircraft they offer as a kit:
Lancair Legacy FG, Lancair Legacy, Lancair ES,
Lancair ES-P, Lancair IV, Lancair IV-P, and the
Lancair PropJet. To date the company has
delivered just over 2,000 kits.
